Town of Elsmere

Challenges

With their previous software provider, the Town of Elsmere experienced many challenges that prevented them from operating efficiently. Their previous system was not specifically designed for municipal government use, and in turn, it did not offer sufficient training for their users. With these issues, the Town was forced to manually complete all important projects in separate applications, such as Microsoft Excel.

Action

The Town knew they were ready to implement a new software system that would fit their needs and participated in a demo with Edmunds. After meeting with their team, the Town felt confident about Edmunds’ overall industry knowledge and product expertise and decided to move forward with the user-friendly modules.

Results

In the years that Elsmere has been an Edmunds GovTech customer, they have subsequently purchased additional modules to continuously support the needs of all departments. One of the Town’s favorite features is the Developer Escrow module because it allows police case numbers to directly translate into project numbers. The project numbers then convert to accounting entries, reassuring the Town that everything is accounted for. This feature, along with the system’s ease of producing reports, has significantly improved the control of data and made their annual audit less stressful.
