Challenges
The Township of Woodbridge had struggled with software inconsistencies for some time. They used unintegrated software from multiple vendors, requiring manual postings for each application and resulting in numerous user errors. This, along with poor technical support and minimal product enhancements, made their situation shaky at best. Their legacy system vendor also struggled to attract new customers and raised maintenance costs to stay above water. These critical deficiencies eventually prompted Woodbridge to make a change.
Action
Woodbridge assessed multiple local government software vendors and products over a 60-day period. Their Township Treasurer had used Edmunds’ ERP Suite at his previous employer and had a very positive experience. After Edmunds’ demo, the Woodbridge team made a site visit to the Treasurer’s former place of employment, which was also a sizeable municipality. Although Woodbridge’s buy-in was strong, they felt even more confident after their visit. Witnessing an ERP system that was intuitive, fully-integrated, feature-rich, and backed by superior customer support made it an easy choice.
Results
Since implementing Edmunds GovTech in 2008, Woodbridge has experienced the benefits of using a fully-integrated system. The Township no longer has to manually post data to multiple software systems, which has made their business processes seamless and eliminated redundant postings between different departments. Their favorite feature about Edmunds is that the support staff can access their system remotely and walk them through any issues they are facing.
